Certified Diesel Mechanic (5 Openings) Detroit Michigan
Pay: $32.30/hr (Mechanic) | $35.30/hr (Master w/ certification)
Schedule: Call 269-408-6738 7am to 7pm daily
- Day: 6 AM – 4 PM
- Night: 8 PM – 6 AM
- Overtime available
- Rotating Saturdays
What You’ll Do
- Repair and maintain heavy equipment (dozers, loaders, haul trucks, conveyors, etc.)
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
- Perform inspections and preventive maintenance
- Weld and replace damaged parts (Arc/MIG preferred)
- Read schematics and use diagnostic tools
- Complete work orders and keep work area clean
- Follow all safety rules and procedures
Requirements
- 5+ years heavy equipment/diesel mechanic experience
- Diesel or heavy mechanic certification required (CAT preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills
- Experience with hydraulics and Tier 4/DPF systems
- Welding experience (arc preferred)
- Must be reliable and safety-focused
- Able to lift 50+ lbs and work in tough conditions
Note: Not a basic maintenance role (no oil/tire-only experience)
Bonus Skills
- CAT certification or CAT SIS program
- Experience with dozers, loaders, excavators
- Line boring or underground welding
