Pay: $34–$48/hour, based on experience and interview performance
Schedule: Monday–Friday
- 6:00 AM–2:30 PM or
- 2:00 PM–10:30 PM
- Some weekend work may be required
About the Job
Were hiring Vehicle Installers and Senior Vehicle Installers to help convert regular vehicles into autonomous vehicles.
You will install sensors, wiring, brackets, and other AV equipment while following detailed instructions and safety procedures.
Vehicle Installer – Main Duties
- Remove and reinstall vehicle panels and interior parts
- Install sensors, brackets, and AV hardware
- Route and secure wiring harnesses
- Connect low-voltage electrical components
- Use hand and power tools
- Inspect installations and document work
- Troubleshoot basic installation problems
- Follow safety and quality procedures
Requirements
- 3–5 years of hands-on automotive, mechanical, installation, or assembly experience
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Experience with vehicle disassembly/reassembly
- Experience with wiring, connectors, or low-voltage electrical systems
- Able to follow work instructions and quality procedures
Good backgrounds: Automotive Technician, Vehicle Electronics Installer, EV Technician, Automotive Audio Installer, Fleet Upfitter, Aerospace Technician, or similar.
Senior Vehicle Installer – Main Duties
Senior Installers perform the same work but also handle more complex installations and technical problems.
- Perform high-voltage safety/lockout procedures
- Lead complex installations and rework
- Troubleshoot electrical and installation issues
- Improve installation procedures
- Train and mentor other technicians
- Support quality investigations
- Work with engineering teams
Senior Requirements
- 5+ years of automotive installation, vehicle integration, or upfitting experience
- Strong electrical and diagnostic skills
- Experience with wiring harnesses and vehicle electronics
- Ability to troubleshoot complex problems
- Experience training others or improving processes
- EV, hybrid, AV, prototype, or manufacturing experience is a plus
S4 is intended mainly for exceptional Master Technicians currently working in dealerships or independent repair shops.
Pay Levels
- S2: $34/hour
- S3: $40/hour
- S4: $45–$48/hour
Final level and pay are determined after the interview and are not negotiable.
Not a Good Fit If You Have
- No hands-on mechanical or installation experience
- Little or no experience using tools
- Mostly driving, customer service, or software experience
- No wiring or electrical installation experience
- No experience following work instructions
- For Senior roles: no vehicle integration, advanced troubleshooting, or technical leadership experience
